THE GOAL
CHOOSE YOUR CLASSES CAREFULLY
BE EFFICIENT

The minimum credit hours required for any bachelor's degree at Weber State University is 120 credits. It is the goal of the university to help students graduate close to that number. The GOAL is to help student take classes that will apply towards the degree that they wish to accomplish.
THE UNIVERSITY CARES ABOUT ITS STUDENTS
HELP STUDENT ACHIEVE THEIR EDUCATIONAL DREAMS, WHILE COSTING THE MINIMUM POSSIBLE
WHY?
When students take too many "free electives" they will be less efficient. Meaning they will pay more (increase student loans), waste time, and graduate later. The goal at Weber State for most bachelor's degrees is to graduate within 5 years. Some degrees will require the full five years while the majority should be 4. The choice is yours.
WHEN YOU CHOOSE COURSES OUTSIDE YOUR MAJOR, YOU ARE LESS EFFICIENT
THE STRUGGLE
CHOOSING CLASSES OUTSIDE YOUR MAJOR
Although many majors allow for "free electives", most do not have much breathing room. For example, the minimum credits for a Bachelor's Degree is 120 credits. If a student completes all your General Education and Major requirements with 110 credits they will have 10 "free electives" from which to choose freely. It is important for students to plan out with advisor the amount of free electives they will be able to do in order to remain efficient.
